Someone pointed out something profound to me last week when she said "I am not a victim." This is something that every one of us needs to get into our understanding. No matter what has happened to us, we are not victims of it. As long as we point out what has happened to us or use it as an excuse for where we are, how we act, or point out what another person did or still does to us, we are putting ourselves in the role of being a victim to their behavior or to a certain set of circumstances. We are not victim. We have within us the power to choose to rise up over that thing, that circumstance, that memory, that behavior and not allow it to overcome us anymore.
It is our carnal man that wants to "feel." It feels entitled to be in a bad mood, it feels like it should angry or not have to forgive. It feels like it has a right to be depressed or complain about it's circumstances. The carnal/ego wants to scream out "I am a victim to this!" Whatever this may be. But the carnal/ego man is not who we are! That is the body and soul that we inhabit in the plane of this physical existence. The REAL you is spirit that comes from God Himself.
One of our main purposes in this physical world is to overcome the physical/carnal/ego emotions and desires that keep us attached to the soulish plane of negative emotions and chaos. We are so connected to this sense world that we have forgotten who we are, where we are from and what we are doing here. Man has lived for thousands of years wrapped up in this carnal physical world. He has created religion in his attempts to reach God or feel connected to Him. Yet within this box of religion, man has put his hope in death, in that once he dies he will be with God in heaven and then all will be alright. And in the meantime, he must trudge through this physical life full of problems.
We are at the dawning of a new age though. I will go into that a later time as it is a huge subject unto itself. Suffice it to say though that "things they are a changing." Man has been attempting to call God down from His heavens to intervene in his earthly circumstances for ages. Jesus came over 2000 years ago to tell us that we don't have to call anything down. His message was that God is already within you. He told us that the Kingdom of heaven is already in your midst and you are just not seeing (perceiving) it. Man has still continued his past history though and has not really been perceiving it.
God has honored our carnal attempts at finding Him during this church age. But He is now opening the books of revelation and calling us to awaken to the new thing He is doing. This new thing will no longer allow us to be victims unless we choose to remain one. This new thing will no longer let us feel we can't reach God because we aren't good enough or holy enough, unless we CHOOSE to believe that lie.
This new thing is not about religious traditions, denominations, just getting by in this life, or waiting for death to see the Kingdom of God. This new thing is about awakening to the truth of who we are and who He created us to be. And it's about allowing the light to shine on the darkness that has been surrounding us and peeling back the layers of deception that have been placed on everything around us. If you've watched Fixer Upper, you know at the end of the show they have the big reveal. We are at the beginning of the greatest reveal in the history of mankind right now. A few weeks ago I heard so clearly late one night, "The greatest show in the history of mankind is happening right now for those who would have eyes to see." I pray you desire eyes to see.
Revivals are over. Church as usual is over. Struggling to believe is over. If you are ready to lay down all victim mindsets, emotions and thoughts, religious activity, preconceived notions, opinions, etc., then you will have a front row seat. It is now time for Awakening. And this truly is going to be the greatest show on earth.
