I once had a friend that told me every autumn she would get a sinus infection. Then she went on to say, "I always know the season is changing when I get a sinus infection. So I'll be getting one soon and will have to go to Dr. to get an antibiotic." Guess what? She got her sinus infection right on time. I also know someone that has said repeatedly, "When I go out to eat, something always happens; the order is wrong, the service stinks, or I have to wait a long time for my food. It's always something." And it was. Every time we went to eat with this person something would go wrong. I fixed that, I no longer go eat with them. Ha. The problem with both of these situations is that neither person allowed for an opposite outcome. It never occurred within the framework of their belief system that it could turn out differently. They both expected specific outcomes and they both got what they expected. Could it be that they perpetuated the outcome by continually believing it would happen and then speaking it out?
Your thinking builds a structure and framework of your belief system. A framework is the basic structure or a set of ideas or facts that provide support for something. Just as you can't have a body without the skeleton or a building without it's frame, your thought, feelings and words that spring forth out of that thinking and feeling provide the framework for your reality. It is not a physical structure, but is real nonetheless. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 23:7 "As a man thinks in his heart, so is he." What is in your heart is what your life will be like outwardly. In Proverbs 4:23, God tells us "Be careful what you think, because your thoughts run your life." Our thoughts run our life because "Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks", according to Luke 6:45. You will say whatever is rooted in your heart. And the belief system and the words combined create a framework of circumstances for your life. Just like you hang your clothes on a clothes rack, your life hangs on the beliefs, feelings, thoughts, and words that flow out you.
God has clearly shown us that our beliefs, thoughts, and words create what happens in our lives. When God said in Proverbs 3:13 "Those who are careful about what they say protect their lives, but whoever speaks without thinking will be ruined", He meant it. He was trying to get us to understand that this is the way He created the universe to work. It is a basic law just like the law of gravity. Try as you hard as you want to defy the law of gravity, you will still fall to the ground if you jump off a bridge. And even though a plane can get off the ground, if the engines fail, the plane is falling. The same is true of the words that come from our mouth and the things we believe in our heart. We may get away with it for a while, but if a belief system is thoroughly rooted within us, it will start controlling our emotions and words. Our words will then begin creating things around our lives that we might not like.
The world has called this the Law of Attraction which many call bunk. But Quantum Physics is now proving the truth of what the Word of God has told us for thousands of years. Our words have power. Words are energy. They are creative when they are in agreement with our belief system. Whatever you think about and believe to be true and feel to be true, regardless of whether those beliefs are real or perceived, are what determines how your life will unfold. The fact is the friend may or may not have gotten a sinus infection every fall, but her perceived truth that she would created the framework for it to become her truth. Quantum Physics has shown us that there exists no such thing as untruth and that our experiences are formed by our perception of truth. It also tells us that looking for this truth in our life and circumstances causes it to be there. Have you ever had a headache or pain that you focused on until it made you thoroughly miserable? And then if you got busy and your mind went somewhere else you forgot about the pain and it went away? I have. But the minute I was reminded that I was supposed to be in pain, it returned full force. Odd huh?
The problem with the world's Law of Attraction is that it says if you confess something long enough it will happen. That is not exactly how it works though which is why so many people find failure in their attempts to name it and claim it or believe and receive. In the next few weeks we will look at this phenomenon of our belief system and how God created it to work. And we'll look at some reasons why it doesn't seem to work for us. Most likely there are some structures and framework that we have built that need dismantling. Another word for framework could also be our faith. How many of us have thought we had faith for something, yet we didn't see the answer? All hands should be raised. Both of mine are up. If it didn't work, the problem is definitely in us, not God. His Words are true. The problem is our perception of them.
We have been created in the image of God. He is not a creative being. He is creativity itself. He is what creativity springs forth from! And we have the same DNA in us. We are creative beings whether we know it or not. And we can look at our lives right now and see what we have created with our words, emotions, thoughts and beliefs. It is now high time for us to awake from our sleep and understand who we are and what we are here to do. First and foremost this begins with taking authority over these words, emotions, thoughts and beliefs. We were created with free will. This means we have the right and ability to choose what we say, feel, think and believe. We haven't been very good stewards of these things though, and in doing so have created a lot of things we don't want. If you want to begin creating the way God intends for us to create, then follow me on my blog or Facebook for updates. We will be diving into this in greater depth in the coming days. Until then, create wisely.
